Texting for Taylor
Way Back PAC funds voter outreach for Dem US Senate candidate
As the saying goes, in for a penny (or, in this case, a million pennies), in for a pound.
In March, the Washington, DC-based Way Back PAC maxed out its direct contributions ($10,000) to Democrat Noah Taylor’s campaign for the US Senate seat now held by the GOP’s Roger Marshall.

And since April 1, the PAC has spent that amount and more on pro-Taylor voter outreach by text and email.

In its May 11 “Independent Expenditures Report,” the PAC notes payments to three voter outreach contractors, totaling $10,468.54:
Scale to Win: $3,158.28 for “SMS Texting” beginning April 1
Blueprint Public Affairs: $7,047.76 for “SMS Production/SMS Texting/Email Production/List Acquisition,” for messaging starting April 1
Mailchimp: $262.50 for “Email Services” on April 27
Scale to Win touts its organizers’ work on the Biden-Harris campaign, as well as on “high-profile presidential campaigns like … Bernie 2016 and 2020, Warren 2020 and Clinton 2016[.]” Huh.
With a Democrat field of 11 candidates, including recent-entrant Adam Hamilton boasting more than a million in the bank — that’s dollars, not pennies — Noah Taylor and the Way Back PAC have to hope for more bang for their text and email bucks than Presidents Bernie, Warren, and Hillary.
